As ‘Making Indonesia WOW’ was the theme of 3rd Jakarta Marketing Week, the Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X–Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region–was invited to deliver ‘Lecture of the Year 2015’. The topic was about ‘Jogja Renaisans’, the leadership vision of Sultan in shaping Yogyakarta by reviving its historical culture and values to be amalgamated with today and future context in a harmonic manner. He stated that superiority of a nation can only be achieved through the superiority of its people in terms of spirituality, intellectuality, and work ethic. “Culture poses crucial role in promoting or depleting the quality of life of a nation. Thus, Indonesia needs to adopt the cross cultural fertilization strategy to foster a culture of excellence. This spirit of excellence will be the spirit of Renaissance Yogyakarta,” said Sultan.
