Inflation in Indonesia has reached 11,03 percent in June. Inflation caused the consumer’s purchasing power to decrease, especially for the poor. The investor and business practitioners would also hold up business expansion due to the low level of consumer demand. But on the other side, the property sector was in good condition.
It was the conclusion from the presentation of the speakers in Jakarta Chief Marketing Officer Club (Jakarta CMO Club) – Fifth Power Dinner on Thursday (24/7/08) at Marketing Gallery, Komplek Rasuna Epicentrum Jakarta, which was hosted by Hiramsyah S Thaib President Director of PT Bakrieland Development Tbk. The keynote speakers of this event wasDorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti, Former Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia and Prof. Dr Bambang Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Dean of Universitas Indonesia Economic Faculty.
More than 50 members of Jakarta CMO Club and top executives in Indonesia attended this event such as Ir Ciputra, President Commissioner of Ciputra Group, Erik Meijer Deputy CEO of PT Bakrie Telcom, Irman A Zahiruddin Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara, andTeddy Robinson Siahaan Marketing Director Perumnas. This event was also attended byAgusrin M Najamudin Governor of Bengkulu.
Hiramsyah S Thaib said, that the property sector was in strong condition. For the middle market the demand of building has increased.
PT Bakrieland Development is expanding to infrastructure projects and will be a major regional player in the property sector next year.
